Introduction
It's the start of the season! We're at the legendary Le Mans circuit, and it's not even raining!
How better to kick off this 2026 season? I don't know, but one thing's for sure: this weekend promises great things for my second year in competition… not a single practice session separates my last race of last year, 6 months ago, from today. Yet, as if by magic, it's like everything has clicked. I've found an ease on the bike that I just didn't have before, so I'm absolutely certain — this year is MY year, the one for my team and my partners with whom we are going to work incredibly hard!
Le Mans is actually not such an easy track on a bike; the elevation changes are often challenging, and it's also where I had my first crash last year, barely out of the pit box, due to the freezing temperatures at the time.
I've learned to love this circuit all over again, and I'm discovering a whole new feeling. To everyone's absolute surprise, some riders decided to bend the rules, which triggered complaints from every single team in the paddock.
This year also marks the very first time our races are being broadcast, and on top of that, the grandstands are way busier than last year! Getting to meet the fans once again, signing our posters, and taking photos with them is always an incredibly rewarding and energising experience for me!
On race day, the feeling is always spot on. This year, I've got a habit of making massive strides right up to the last second, which is brilliant for my riding, but a bit of a nightmare for overtaking—and that's an area where I'm definitely still lacking experience. One thing's for sure: I had that fire in my eyes, desperate to get back out there, pushing lap after lap right to the absolute limit. With just a fraction more time, my lap times could have put me right up there fighting for the top 10, or even 10th spot!
